Do you know this about Cerrone?
Cerrone is a resourceful producer of 70's and 80's disco songs. He has marketed over 30 million albums worldwide, including over four million copies in France.
He succeeded in selling eight million copies of Supernature, the single "Love In C Minor" (1976) reached no. 3 and was in the charts for two months, selling three million copies.
With Supernature (1977), Cerrone merged symphonic orchestration with synthesizers, and at the 1978 Billboard Disco Forum, Cerrone won six awards, including Disco Artist of the Year.
In 1992, the musical Dreamtime was based on Cerrone's original story and enjoyed 140 shows on Broadway at New York's Ed Sullivan Theater.
By the end of the '60s, Cerrone had significantly been influenced by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and Blood, Sweat & Tears.
He performed at massive events such as the 2005 Dance Party Live in Versailles and the 2000 Los Angeles Millennium Celebration.
Cerrone, who used to tap on the school tables during class, was on the verge of expulsion from school, so he ran away from home at age 16 to play music in the streets for money.
He is lucky enough to meet the legendary music producer Eddie Barclay, busking around the port of Saint-Tropez in 1972, who invited Cerrone to lunch and continued to produce his first two albums as the frontman of Kongas.
Being the creative backbone of disco music, Cerrone made up his mark in the 4x4 rhythmic style simply because he needed two percussionists to do something at a stretch while playing drum solos live.
