Do you know this about yazoo?
Before Yazoo Vince Clark was a member of Depeche Mode.
Alison Moyet published an advertisement in British Music magazine to which Clarke responded, and the duo then formed the band.
In 18 months, they released two albums, "Upstairs at Eric's" and "You and Me Both," which was a high success because of the mixture of Clarke's melodic nodes with Moyet's astonishing and beautiful vocals.
The duo gained a lot of success worldwide, especially in the UK.
Three of their four singles made it to the top 3 of UK Singles Charts.
Both of their albums also made it to the top two of the UK Albums Charts.
Their debut single in North America, "Situation," was highly successful there. However, initially, the song is a B-side in the UK and massive success across the US and Canada.
In May 1983, the duo split harshly after a lack of communication between the two members over Clarke's willingness to release more records under Yazoo's name.
After splitting up, Clarke formed the band Erasure, which was also a highly successful and longer-lasting synth-pop band. Alison Moyet persued her solo career, which was a great success for her.
Despite their short career, Yazoo still inspired many bands and the music industry in the mid-80s because they combined electronic nodes and beautiful and soulful female vocals.
Hercules and Love Affair, La Roux, Shiny Toy Guns, and Blaqk Audio were among the bands inspired by Yazoo.
