Tyrone Brunson was an American singer and musician who played bass guitar.
His most successful single was an electro-funk instrumental titled "The Smurf" (1982), which reached #14 on the Billboard R&B Chart in 1983.
In his early career, he played in several local groups.
He led the mid-1970's funk band The Family and later the bassist for the late 70's funk band Osiris.
He released his second studio album, Fresh, in 1984. The title track reached #22 on the R&B chart, but no other singles made a significant dent on the chart.
In 1984 he released his third studio album Love Triangle, which had no successful singles and fizzled on the charts.
He was later the backing vocalist for the R&B trio Levert.
After leaving the music business in the 1990s, he became an IT instructor.
