  • Had an acclaimed solo artist career, staring off in hip hop and world music later going into funk and disco.

  • Had legal issues with the Sex Pistols over unpaid revenues and lost in the '80s.

  • In 1984 McLaren turned to electronic music and opera with the single "Madame Butterfly," which reached no. 13 in the UK and no.16 in Australia.
